+ This past weekend we rode Athens, Lancaster, and OSU and met up with a whole crew from Toledo along the way. I uploaded a handful of pictures from that, along with some other photos that I've been accumulating. Auston: 1, Adam Baumker: 1 2, Biker Ben: 1 2, Bud: 1 2, Drew: 1, John Jackson: 1, Thomas: 1 2 3 4, and Troy: 1 2 + The dirt contest at Miamisburg went down on Sunday. Thanks to Trevor Gay and all of the sponsors for putting it all together. No thanks to the cops that kicked the bikers out of the skatepark (which left the park totally empty). I'll have photos and some video clips up soon. + I'm still working on the skatepark directory. So email me pictures of your local parks if you've got em (bud.perspectivesbmx[at]gmail.com). -Bud |
![]() John Jackson's wife has decided to compromise and let him ride one day a week, but only under her supervision, which is good, because she likes to take photos. Oh the married life. ![]() We tried to ride street at OSU Saturday night, but got caught in a thunderstorm before we got started. Adam Baumker tire rode a super skinny ledge that was shielded from the rain. |

+ A few of us went to the Hamilton skatepark on Tuesday to film a few things for a little website video. And I witnessed the single worst crash I've ever seen. Mitch Baker took a pretty hard fall on the rail and went straight to his head. We took him to the ER and a few hours and cat scans later the doctor informed him that he had a fractured skull. He's gonna be ok, but he'll be takin' it easy for awhile. We wish you a smooth and speedy recovery Mitch. + The video we pieced together from Hamilton is here. + Last update I told you that Jim, Troy, Jon, Casey, and Tony were going to Pittsburgh, which is what they all thought they were doing. At the last minute plans kinda fell through and after they had got out on the highway, Jon and Tony informed everyone that they were on their way to Nashville instead. It took them all by surprise but they still had a good time. Check out the story and photos that Troy put together... CASHVILLE STORY. + Jim Baaske informed me that they will be having a best trick contest in Adrian, MI this weekend. It's gonna be a laid back fundraiser event, and they'll have free food, drinks, and prizes. Show up at the skatepark around noon on Saturday. It should be a pretty fun time. + Check back later for a Children of the Damned trailer video. I'll post it asap. + I'm in the process of redoing the spots section of the site. It's gonna be a list of all the skateparks in the midwest that I can get info on or pictures of. So if you've got any you'd like to submit, email em to me at bud.perspectivesbmx[at]gmail.com. Thanks goes out to those of you who have already contributed. -Bud |

+ There's going to be a dirt jumping contest at the jumps in Miamisburg next to the skatepark on June 26th. If you've been to the jumps before, don't worry, they're being rebuilt for the contest. It should be a good time. I'll have more info next update. + Jim Baaske, Troy Merkle, Jon Bechtold, Casey Longshore, and Tony Cherry all went to Pittsburgh yesterday. They're spending the weekend in PA to film for "Children of the Damned". Jim got into town a little bit early, so him and I thought we'd make a quick stop at a certain vacant building and film some rail stunts. Jim hit the rail 3 times, and I filmed. As soon as Jim landed on the third attempt a security guard was waiting at the bottom of the steps. Jim and I have both been written up for trespassing and will be charged for the damages done to the rail. But that's not all. Somehow the cop wrote us up for trespassing at the SkatePlaza too. I'm not sure how this works, since we weren't even near the plaza, but it's not like we can ride there anyway. Anyhow, you won't be seeing him or myself as spectators at the grand opening event on the 11th. + Jarrett Ward, formerly of Sedition Clothing and Ohio, has teamed up with Jeff Harrington to produce frames and parts. From the way it sounds they're cookin' up somethin' really good. More info on that soon. Keep a look out for it. + Brett Peltier will be out for a month or two after a fall at the trails. He ended up with 6 stitches under his eye, a laceration on his kidney, and 3 days in the hospital. I've seen Brett take some pretty hard falls, but I think this one tops it so far. Get well soon Brett. + New pictures of Troy(1 2) and Jon(1 2), and a new desktop background(800x600 1024x768). -Bud |
