Troy Merkle's ramps will be gone soon.

Jon Bechtold and the rest of the Felony crew are taking a trip to "Hotlanta" next weekend.

DC Skateplaza = no bikes?
+ Some of you are familiar with "The Barn". The barn has been Troy's personal skatepark for the past 6 years, but it has to come to an end. Troy has moved to Dayton, and doesn't spend much time in Van Wert anymore. So before the ramps are gone he's gonna throw one last jam. Next weekend everyone is gettin' together to ride the barn one last time. That's Saturday Nov. 27th. If you're interested in going, email me or talk to Troy. bud.perspectivesbmx@gmail.com

+ Aspire Video Contest round 3 is over. The results are posted on the new Aspire site at aspirebmxvc.com.

+ Biker Ben has been working on his site, Warentybmx.com, and actually redesigned the entire thing. He posted some pictures and a story about a riding session they had the other day. So if you've got a minute check out another Toledo local site.

+ I've been talking to Drew Wilson about the no bikes rules at the Bedford Park. I was unaware that a month ago the park was shut down for a few weeks because of vandalism that bikers allegedly caused. His high school paper even went as far as blaming the spray paint and trash on bikers, and said that it was closed as a punishment. Drew's talked to a couple skateboarders who said themselves that it wasn't bikers at all. Even if bikers were to blame, how were they tryin to punish them? Shut the park down for a month so bikers couldn't ride the park they were banned from to begin with? It makes no sense. If they really wanted to punish the vandals they'd find out who it was and take judicial action. It pisses me off. The last time I went to that park a 40 yr old man yelled at me for riding on the opposite end of the park from his little son. Sure old man, I'm gonna run your kid over. Things were going well and we were having a good session in harmony. There were no problems until they whined and created some. We need to do something about this. Not just here around Toledo, though.
Last weekend when I was in Dayton Jon, Tony, and I were riding at a local middle school when we got kicked out. The school just so happens to be next to the new DC Skateplaza. When we asked the cop when it would be done, he told us they probabaly won't let bikes in. "They changed their minds." Do they think that will stop us? We get in trouble for riding street around town, yet we can't ride the places that were built for the things we do.

+ I went to Dayton again this weekend. Jon, Tony, and I found an abandoned parking lot full of pallets. So we went to town and started building a few things. The first thing we made was a ghetto bank to sub against a loading dock. It was fun until I busted through. From there we just started building whatever came to mind. Some of the things we made were a vert wall, quarter/tranny up the loading dock, blacktop bank to wall, bank to sub, and an attempted curved wall that didn't quite work out. Needless to say we had a lot of fun making our own ghetto skatepark.

+ I forgot to mention in the last update that I finally got to see Paul "P Fishy" Fisher's band, Farewell Goodbye, the other weekend. Little P has quite the scream, let me tell you. He's fierce.

+ Update your address books again. I have a new email address. I got tired of messin around with my original email address. I gave up, it just doesn't work right. So Brian Shapiro hooked me up with GMail. It rules. My new address is bud.perspectivesbmx@gmail.com. Thanks Brian.

+ Does anyone want to buy my camera bag/backpack? It's a LowePro MicroTrekker 100 in brand new condition. I've got an extra, and need some money for a newer, bigger bag that will accommodate some new video gear. $40 o.b.o. Let me know if you're interested.

+ I think I'm going to Woodville this Friday. Are you? If not you should go to the T1/S&M video premiere at The Flow. It starts at 10pm after the session ends.

Drew Wilson = broken elbow again. Get well soon, champ.
+ In case you all haven't heard yet there is going to be a little premiere for the new S&M video at Reggie's Bike Shop on November 26th. That's the day after thanksgiving, folks. I also hear that there will be a bunch of sweet new S&M and Fit parts on display. But I guess you'll have to show up to find out. Be there.

+ The other day Auston, Tyler, and myself drove out to Nathan Powell's house and rode for a bit. Nathan built some new stuff and changed things up a bit. We ended up going to the little Oregon park while we were there, and I have to say that park is pretty fun. I actually enjoy that place a lot and want to go back. It's mostly smaller stuff, but it can be fun just the same. It was just an all around fun session, but it didn't end at the park. Nathan took us to the school across the street and showed us a steep bank to wall. Then he proceeded to do a few nice fakie wallrides and icepick a tall window ledge. It was rad.
