The Lake Jumper
(introduction by Bud Dickman and Tim from Indiana; photos by Troy Merkle)
"If I'm not mistaken Troy Merkle came into ownership of "Lake Jumper" after finding it at a garage sale a
couple years ago. I believe he paid right around $10 for the orphaned and unloved Mongoose. Troy
made a wise investment that day and brought the bike back to his residence outside of Van Wert. There the
bike finally found its loving home. And shortly after it became loved by all who were honored enough to
experience its hot looks, speed, and lenghty 18" top tube."

"The current lake jumper is, by far, the classiest of all the lake jumpers. it's actually a name brand bike!
Starting life as a Mongoose Hoop-D I believe. The bike was destined to be immediately abandoned as soon as
it's owner got their license. But, the Hoop-Dizzle was selected for a special misson, that being to haul
goofy ass mid-westerns at Mach 7 into a lake. It's most distinguishing feature is the "Van Dub County Choppers"
custom paintjob. Mixing influences from 70's stuntmen and the emo scene to add a splash of badassity to the
bike "VWCC" did an excellent job. The lake jumper also sports the unique Bud Dickman grip mod, the grips are
removable for an instant mid-air weight savings. Finally, the lake jumper's chain has approximately a 45% chain
failure rate. Having that in the back of your mind as you crank towards a ramp ads realism to the trick learning
process since most of the characters that use the bike have stunt bicycles with questionable mechanics and
often must contemplate the quailty of their bike while cranking at a real box jump. But, all in all, the
bike is an excellent jumper and trust me, bitches love it."
